Entries for the Hansa Powerade Dusi 2010 which takes place on January 21, 22 and 23 close today (Friday) 18 December 2010.

“The Dusi kicks off the biggest year in the history of South African sport and lots of paddlers want to be part of the action - entries are flooding in as paddlers want to make the Friday deadline” said Ray de Vries spokesman for the organisers.

Subject : Large crocodile spotted in the Dusi

Natal canoe club, the organisers of the worlds biggest canoe marathon, the Hansa Powerade Dusi report that all is going well with preparations for the event in January.

"We are on track and very happy with the way things are going at the moment" said Ray De Vries spokesman for the organisers.

"We usually have a number of concerns at this time of year like Hyacinth, water quality and quantity. The challenge we have at this moment is that there have been a number of sightings of crocodiles in the actual Umgeni River.

"The latest sightings by a number of paddlers have been about 800 m from Blue Lagoon which is quite worrying for us.
