Dear [Name]!

We are into the final countdown to The Unlimited Dusi 2012. With a successful GT Drak Challenge now a thing of the past, all eyes are on the start of The Unlimited Dusi on 16 February! This weekend sees three races on the Dusi route, including the key seeding race from Campbell's Farm to Dusi bridge that covers the second half of the first stage.

Get your entry in!

Normal entries close at 6pm on Monday 30 January - that's just a handful of days away. After that late entries will be taken at a penalty of R150 per paddle. There is always a flood of entries at the very last moment, a pretty nightmarish scenario for the Dusi admin team! So please try and avoid the frantic last minute scramble.

Entry information can be found here and the list of received and processed entries can be viewed here.

If you are keen to paddle in a K2 but haven't got a partner sorted out yet, then our new PartnerFinder is working superbly well, uniting paddlers for the race simply by posting your details on the website.

We have a full programme of entertainment lined up for the race to add value to the experience of every paddler and second, as well as interested members of the public. Details can be viewed here.

Seeding - how it all works

There has been some debate in the last few days about the seeding structure for The Unlimited Dusi. From the very outset these rules have been available on the race website, and we have gone to a lot of trouble to make sure that the ambit of seeding races in both the Cape and Gauteng has been significantly expanded. All this info is spelt out clearly here, together with some new explanatory notes and answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

Most importantly, the Dusi doors are always wide open, so if you have a comment or a concern, please don't hesitate to make contact with us, and we will make time to go through your suggestions and comments thoroughly.

Get in some time on the race route

There are three races on The unlimited Dusi route this weekend! Friday night sees the Hansa night race at Camps Drift, a 15km race with two short portages, Saturday sees the famous Dash n Crash from Camps Drift to Low Level bridge, and Sunday sees the important seeding race from Campbell's Farm to Dusi bridge. The following Sunday (5 February) is the Inanda Dam to Durban race, providing a valuable look at Day Three.

We have a brand new plan to get daily updates on the water levels in the uMsundusi and uMngeni rivers. DUCT staffers that work on the river every day will post an update on the river levels daily via Twitter on the race website river levels page, starting in the next few days.

Remember that the latest information on river cleanliness that we receive from DUCT will be displayed on the race website homepage so that you have access to the information you need to make informed decisions about getting onto the water.

Good luck for the final few weeks of training!
